This is the life of transfers nowadays. Oklahoma fans remember the former Texas Tech defensive back Reggie Pearson like the guy who fielded the quarterback Dillon Gabriel on a makeup game in overtime last month.

Now? Now they will know him as a Sooner.

Pearson announced his commitment to the Sooners Thursday morning, moving from the Red Raiders.

A three-star recruit for the class of 2018, Pearson began his college career at Wisconsin before heading to Lubbock for his final two seasons.

He was very productive with the Red Raiders, totaling 109 combined tackles with three interceptions and seven passes defended over the last two seasons.

Pearson also had 60 tackles in 2019 for Wisconsin, bringing three years of quality experience to the OU defensive room.

It becomes the fourth transfer addition for Brent Venables’ club up to this point and the first defender.

Pearson joins the former Notre Dame defensive lineman Jacob Laceyformer South Carolina tight end Austin Stogner and former Indiana linebacker Dasan McCullough in join OU.

As for Gabriel? He seems to be taking it easy.
