Keshia Knight Pulliam of The Cosby Show is pregnant and expecting her first child with Brad James

Keshia Knight Pulliam is about to take on a new role: mother of two children.

The Cosby Show the actress is pregnant and expecting a baby with her husband Brad James. While the baby will be the first of the couple, Keshia is already from mother to daughter She5 years old, who he shares with his ex Ed Hartwell.

“Oh honey honey!!” the 43-year-old wrote in part of a Dec. 1 Instagram post that showed her showing off her baby bump while smiling next to Brad at the Entertainment in the Tamron Room And Salt-N-Pepa“Push It” was playing in the background. “Baby James Coming in 2023!!”

During her appearance on the show, Keshia shared why she initially kept the news private.

“Not that I tried to hide it,” she said Tamron room. “But when you’ve had a miscarriage, when you’ve gone through its journey, you just want to enjoy this moment and you want to make sure everything is okay. So, we didn’t hide it. I’ve been walking and doing and living life. But in terms of make an announcement, we didn’t.”

Now she’s thrilled to have the secret out. “It’s great,” Keshia continued, “because I know so many people have taken this journey with us.”

And Ella can’t wait to have a brother. “She’s so excited to be a big sister and she talks to the kid on a regular basis,” the actress added. “I was on my tummy, and she’s been on this journey too, so I was like, ‘Mom, is the baby going to stay with us this time? Will he stay?’ And she’s so happy that it’s like this and that everything is going well. She’s going to be the most amazing big sister ever.”

As Keshia noted, she’s shared her journey before, including in the documentary Eggs Over Easy: Black Women and Fertility, where she she recalled her decision to freeze her eggs.

“Literally the week I was supposed to start my injections, COVID-19 hit, and I haven’t been able to go ahead with egg retrieval, or just the whole process because as you know you have to inject, the hormones and all these different things,” she said in the OWN documentary, which premiered in January. “But it was literally within two or three days that I should have started my meds.”

News of Keshia’s pregnancy comes just over a year after she and Brad appeared in the 2019 film Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta together, they married in September 2021.

“My husband, best friend, dad and so much more!!” she captioned an Instagram birthday tribute to the actor in July. “There’s no one else I want to do life with.”
